And YES, I’m not supposed to be wearing makeup!

So growing up I was always involved in something and I loved being around people. I kept a packed schedule of activities and I was rarely at home. So when I graduated I eventually got a really good paying job in corporate America that had BENEFITS!!!! lol I still traveled but not as much as I use to with my parents. I had a young daughter and we traveled some but you know it’s different when you have to pay for it. I became a mother at the age of 20 so I never got the opportunity to be a single and carefree traveler. While some of my friends were traveling without a care in the world I traveled with a diaper bag, car seat, etc. But that all started to change when I followed my dream of becoming a police officer.

I now have a job that pays me more and offers a vacation package that I couldn’t get in corporate America. So much so that when I first started my mom would ask me if I was going to loose my job because I was taking vacations, more than 2 weeks worth in a year, wayyyy more. I had to break it down to her about how our vacation, sick time, personal days, overtime, and comp time worked. Once she understood that she told me to never leave! lol

Needless to say my daughter and I took a good amount of trips. Many were for a few days while others were 5 days or more. As I got further in my career and changed positions my ability to take vacations dwindled. I didn’t vacation as much as I would like to and that was something new for me. I got married and realized that I was married to someone that did not like to travel as much as I did. The good thing was he did not have a problem with me traveling without him. It worked for us but there were times that I wish he would go with me.

With that being said….let just say when I do it again things will definitely be different. Oh yeah by the way (btw)…I am happily divorced….
